Lightbulb Diet option for Male Warriors.

This may have been asked or been a topic before.
If so I'd rather be pointed to the right topic rather than be flamed at.
I am new at this forum after all. ^^

My issue is the following. I've played a lot of rpg's troughout my young years & have always enjoyed playing one of the most classic charactertypes.
The warrior.

In the guild wars game however I was a bit dissapointed seeing that every warrior had to look like a bodybuilding type ( or Barbarian )

Personally I love the knightish & therefor more athletic bodytype as those used by Dervish & Ranger Males in the game.
I'm pretty sure that I am not the only one that would have liked the 'option' to customise that.

What I was wondering is the following ; Eye of the north would bring some changes to the game for which a lot of playing veterans have asked over the years.
Could this one possibly include this as well?

If not, where would I best post a request like this, so that it may be noticed by the developers of Guild Wars.

I do not believe that ,besides building in the option in the excisting game, it would be hard for the creators to make a resized mesh/skeleton for the male warrior character and its excisting armors as well as fitting the excisting textures on those. ( a few modders could have done that in little time if Gw were not an mmo )

So I'd like to get as much information around this as possible. because I'm sure a lot of Guild wars warrior players would like a less *Big* warrior as well.

1) finding out weither or weither not they intend to make more customisation for the male warrior open in 'Eye of the North'

2) If not, finding a way to convince them to add this, before releas if possible.

I therefor hope not being the only one who would like this available as an option ^^

Regards,

Osgorion.

The best place to post a game change suggestion is in our Sardelac forum. Search first to find an open thread on this subject as you are not the first to complain about character appearance.

I just deleted a Level 10 warrior because I couldn't stand to play him and made a female one instead.

Same here, actually. The male warriors look like big dumb oafs. Mind you, in full armour they do have an unmistakably tank-ish silhouette.

Aha...I'm glad I'm not the only one.

When I got Factions I was hoping to make a samurai-like character, but with the males being so...beefy...I was forced to use a female instead.

I also deleted my Warrior/Necro for the same reason.

And, yeah, it wouldn't be tough to make a skinny warrior mesh. The common NPC and other classes (Mesmer, Ritualist, etc.) could easily be extracted and modified.

To JeniM ;

I am aware of this JeniM , a new game release however has a load of storage to implement bigger changes/updates to an excisting game. So if they were to, for example add this option for charactercreation in the other games via GWEN. It would be easier for them to distribute it.
Doing this via an update would mean quite a bit of data & therefor a bit more troubling.
Of course this way it'd be only available for those purchasing GWEN.

Another way 'could' be to add it to their online shop as an available extra mod for a few $/???. I myself would not mind paying a little for such an update & thus supporting arenanet a bit more for past performances & coming ones as well (Gw2) . ^^

To Darcy ;

Thank you for the heads up. though I'd like to concider this topic as positive criticism & realisable suggestions rather than 'complaining'. =)

----------------------------------------------------------------

I agree to all of your opinions of course. But not all people dislike the current warrior looks.
( In the US they run for gouvernor you know =P )

Therefor I , personally, would not want to see it gone.

After all. Why *change* when you can add ?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

To Sante-Kelm ;

I'm sure there are some people palying this game who have had some experiences making more complicated mods for non mmo games.

Indeed Fixing up the Meshes & Textures for an Athletic warrior body type with it's belonging armor sets would not be a verya hard thing to do. Especially for proffesionals such as the people of Arena-net.

Adding to option to make this possible ingame however is a different matter and may proove a bit more challenging even for them to add.

And remembering that they have a lot more on their minds than warriors with a weigth problem also should keep us with both feet on the ground.

Even if they were to decide or be willing to implement this somehow it would not be a change for tomorrow.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the general concern of those that would like to see this changed however it is, for now, just important that this little concept gets noticed by arenanet officials & therefor at least concidered. ^^
